Dean Von was
born to be the entertainer he is. Although he is considered a late bloomer, is certainly no overnight success.
While Dean has always had what it takes to tread the boards, going over the edge and becoming, “Famous,” isn’t something that occupied his mind, even now.
A Musician and Songwriter First
Dean was always more concerned about making and performing music. Far more concerned than becoming a star.
Dean Von, or Rikki Dean as he was called when he was with Aftershock, worked hard in the early days marketing his records and carrying his suitcase full of 45’s all over LA.
Dean and Aftershock got some airplay and landed the bands 45’s in Tower Records, but success at the time seemed to elude he and the band.
All for One and One for All
Always a team player, Dean declined a private meeting with
Dick Clark Productions. If the band wasn’t coming along for the ride neither was he.
There were other opportunities, but in my humble opinion, yes, speaking in the first on a rare occasion, he wouldn’t be on the planet.
Anyone that knows Dean knows he loves a party and is always the life of one. I can only imagine what life in the spotlight 24/7 would have done to his genius and his talent.
Dean is surrounded by massive Guardian Angels that are always shaking their heads and holding him close so that he is safe for the ride.
Dean Von in the Early Early Days
As a toddler he used to sleep in his mother’s drum kit and was born with rhythm in his blood. He debuted with the June Von band at age 5.
It was obvious that those early piano lessons paid off as his skills on the keyboards landed him the job of keyboard player with Aftershock.
For those that follow Dean, the rest is history with Aftershock becoming the house band for Gazzari’s in Hollywood. Bill Gazzari loved Dean and truly believed in his talent.
Dean Von Hard at Work in the Studio
Today Dean Von is still at it with a new chapter that has him writing and recording music. In addition, he is finding homes for TV, Film, Commericals, Soundtracks, Meditation Music, and Audio Books.
Almost Famous Productions is still uploading video content on YouTube. Seriously, you never know what will be on film next. If that isn’t enough one of his latest adventures, the Dean Von Music Podcast Show is on the fast track.
If you haven’t checked it out do so, you will love it!
